Daffodil Dash 3-Miler & Family Fun Run

FAMILY FARM FEST

In celebration of National Ag Day, Our Family Farm, LLC is hosting a FAMILY FARM FEST. The theme for National Ag Day is "Agriculture: Abundant, Affordable, Amazing." Admission is $5.00 per person, with a portion of the proceeds being donated to local chapters of Future Farmers of America. Demonstrations will include a variety of horse riding/driving events. Exhibits will focus on the production of food and fiber crops including cotton, corn, rice, soybeans, and pecans. Educational sessions on gardening, irrigation, insects, and firearms will be taking place throughout the fest.

Ballet On Wheels Easter Basket Drive & Dance Camp

During the two-hour camp, students will receive an introduction to some of the various styles of dance which includes ballet, creative movement, modern, jazz and hip-hop through 30 minute mini-sessions. The students will also have an opportunity to experience a brief performance by current company dancers with the Ballet On Wheels, Theatre of Dance. For ages 3 to 13. The registration fee is simply a basket full of Easter goodies for an under-privileged Mid-South child.

Officials of The Salvation Army will break ground on its 100,000-square-foot Ray and Joan Kroc Corps Community Center on a 15-acre site near the corner of Central and East Parkway in Memphis. The community center will offer programs in the arts, education, recreation and worship and will include basketball courts, a fitness center, an aquatic center, soccer fields, and a 300-seat performing arts/chapel space.

11th Annual Help for Hope 5K

This race is named after its founder, Caitlin Steiger, who at the age of 15 mobilized the corporate community behind Hope House and raised more than $25,000 in the first year. Caitlin is now is college, but she and her family are still big supporters of this wonderful fund-raiser for Hope House. More than 500 runners and walkers have participated in the past. Every participant gets a long sleeve T-shirt, food, drinks and musical entertainment at the race.

The Bartlett Community Concert Band is a group of volunteer musicians that come from all walks of life. It consists of teachers, businessmen and women, professionals in medicine and law, homemakers, retirees, and middle and high school students. They welcome all skill levels and there are no auditions required to join. Members come from Bartlett, Memphis, Germantown, Millington, and all areas of Shelby County, Arkansas and Mississippi. The band plays several formal concerts each year. The band is conducted by Rhendle Millen, DMA. Mr. Millen is the head of the Department of Fine Arts and Director and Teacher of Instrumental Music at Saint Mary’s Episcopal School.

Memphis Loves Kids Celebration

Children will be invited to share what they love about Memphis on a giant "mind map." Kids will also be invited to literally stand on their soapbox and contribute to a short film focusing on what children love most about the Bluff City.
